Here is a new and clean typeset version of Alkan's Allegretto Etude from his majestic cycle 'Douze Études dans tous les tons majeurs' Op.35.

This is the first big collection of Concert Etudes that were published in 1847 - ten years before the gigantic 'Douze Études dans tous les tons mineurs' Op.39 - which complete an Etude collection that runs through all the 24 keys.

The first Etude of this cycle is quite difficult in execution because of its parallel root notes and scales in one hand. Fingerings are added and were taken from the original source. It can be considered as a kind of Prélude that introduces the listener to the artistic and virtuosic pieces that will follow. The mood is continuously bright except for the modulating B section.
