This work was created from the text of the programme of works that would be interpreted in the concert where the premiere would take place. This text appears under the staves because it is the generative idea but should not be used in the performance.
To compose the music, values were assigned to each letter of the alphabet ( pitch, duration, intensity, attack or pause) and, using some processes of discrete mathematics, they were transformed into sets of data with which each bar was built. Although it may be possible to establish some affinity between the text of the program, or the music it refers to, and the resulting work, this was not the creative purpose since the use of the text was merely a generating instrument. To the heat of the Carnation Revolution, which had taken place during the creation process, I added a Crochet subtitle, Rice Stitch Minus One, for a comprehensible elucidation of something unattainable, a wink or joke to the pianist and the audience, in which that minus one meant something else: Minus a dictatorial regime.

Esta obra foi criada a partir do texto do programa de obras que iria ser interpretado no concerto em que se faria a estreia. Esse texto aparece por baixo das pautas por ser a ideia geratriz, mas não deve ser usado na performance.
Para compor a música foram atribuídos valores a cada letra do alfabeto (altura, duração, intensidade, ataque ou pausa) e, utilizando alguns processos da matemática discreta, transformaram-se em conjuntos de dados com os que se construiu cada compasso. Ainda que possa ser possível estabelecer alguma afinidade entre o texto do programa, ou as músicas que ele refere, e a obra resultante, não foi esse o propósito criativo já que a utilização do texto foi um mero instrumento gerador. Ao calor da Revolução dos Cravos, que acontecera durante o processo de criação, adicionei um subtítulo de croché, Ponto de arroz menos um, para uma elucidação compreensível de algo inatingível, uma piscadela ou brincadeira para a pianista e para o público, em que esse menos um significava algo mais: Menos um regime ditatorial.
