Frank Zappia's singing and playing his heartfelt cover of Mormonics. To Frank, the song taps into the basic human spirit. It speaks about breaking down barriers to inclusiveness, to foster acceptance, understanding and to challenge perceptions.
"Mormonics was written by a good friend of mine, Keith Hutchison a while back. For some reason I felt a connection with the song from the first time I heard it. The version I was first exposed to was with an entire band, drums, guitars, keyboards, with Keith on main vocals and lots of other backing singers. It was great! Amongst all the instrumentation I started to focus on the words. The lyrics were beautiful and thought provoking, yet simple. To me, the song taps into the basic human spirit. It speaks about breaking down barriers to inclusiveness, to foster acceptance, understanding and to challenge perceptions. I think it's about what we all want, deep down. So I took the song to my piano - no drums, guitars, or keyboards. The words were brought to the fore, clear and exposed and my piano responded." Frank Zappia
