Product Description

Five Jazz Miniatures for Tuba and one percussionist (playing five drums with no snares and tambourine)
1. Funk in the Trunk (funk)
2. An Evening at Club Pinotte (burlesque)
3. 7th Avenue Stomp (swing)
4. Blue Rain in the Street (blues)
5. Ain't No Jive Trunk! (jive)

The score includes the full duet score and separate parts for tuba and percussion. Percussion backing files are available on request. All except #1 can be performed as tuba solos without the percussion if desired. No improvisation is required of either performer.

Begun in August 2020 with "Funk in the Trunk" composed for the Moreau-VanTuinen Duo, Feel grew into a short suite of miniatures for tuba and percussion. "Feel" as a title has a double meaning. In addition to feeling the groove of each piece, it also sounds similar to the Arabic word for "elephant" which is a common personification of the tuba.

Difficulty: Advanced Intermediate (due to rhythms and range)
Range: G1 to D4 (C4 is middle C)
Total Duration: ca. 7 minutes

Thanks to Matthew Murchison for providing the solo recording of "Blue Rain in the Street"
