English Lyrics Spring Expectation Du Fu (712-770, Tang Dynasty)
Although the nation was defeated,
Mountains and rivers still exist.
The City is surrounded by spring air,
With crazy growth of grass and shrubs.
 When I feel sorrow,
The flowers are splashed with my tears.
That hated separating scares me a lot, even when birds fly (or, cry) .

The fire of beacon tower has burnt for three months.
A letter from home is more precious
Than ten thousand ounce of gold.
Scratching my grey hair could only help them to grow shorter (or, fewer).
I am embarrassed to find nowhere to insert my hairpin.

Johnson Gao composed a song for that poem by Du Fu (712-770) during the period of the Russian-Ukraine War, along the end of March and early April, 2022.
