Product Description
"Mistletoe and Wine" was originally written by Jeremy Paul, Leslie Stewart and Keith Strachan for the musical "Scraps", an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Match Girl". This was later televised, with the song being led by Twiggy as a rowdy pub sing-along. Cliff Richard adapted the lyrics to reflect a more religious theme for his famous rendition of the song, which went to Christmas number one in 1988. It was also the highest selling single of that year.
In this arrangement, the song starts with only two cornets playing and gradually builds, with the first verse featuring the back row cornets, until everybody is playing. At rehearsal mark F, a duet between principal and repiano cornets bridges to the repeated choruses which close the piece. The final phrase echoes the introduction, with just four instruments playing, the flugel taking the tune.
Alternate clef trombone parts are provided.
