The Backyardigans is a Canadian-American CGI musical series created by Janice Burgess. It is a co-production of Nelvana Animation Studio, Guru Studio and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. In 2011, the first season was included as part of the Noggin app. The series was based on a live-action pilot produced in 1998 titled Me and My Friends. The series features five anthropomorphic animal friends that teach musical rhythms, stimulate body movements, and develop imagination.
