One of Mendelssohns beloved Songs without Words arranged for string quartet. The beautiful melody with delicate accompaniment is both very expressive and in the style of folk song. While the melody is in the first violin, all four parts require a high level of musicality and strong ensemble playing. [I apologize that the sound file is just the computer playing, and not very well. I hope to put up a sample of a real quartet soon.]
