Product Description

Caravan is a well-known jazz standard written and made famous by Duke Ellington. The song inspires exotic images of desert travel and life, and been recorded more than 350 times since its debut in 1936. Here, the Caravan goes through Cuba, as the tune is given a makeover as a Cha-Cha for piccolo, six C flute parts, with alto and bass flutes, and uses a rhythm section of piano, bass and drums with optional guitar. It also features an easy open solo section for anyone that wants to improvise. The slow, walking groove of a Cha-Cha fits perfectly in the ongoing story of this tune's journey, and the flute parts are very accessible, making it a great choice for less-experienced players. As always, the piano montunos, bass lines, and drum grooves are fully notated!
