Alice is a London-based classically-trained pianist and composer. While Alice was immersed in the world of classical music as part of her formal education, upon discovery of her parent’s extensive collection of vinyl recordings, Alice from a young age developed a passion for an extremely broad range of music, including pop, rock, world and dance music. Today, the diverse range of music experienced by Alice during her earlier years undoubtedly influences her often avant-garde contemporary classical musical compositions and their realisation as recordings.
Alice’s next-generation modern classical piano compositions have been broadcast on the radio in 105 countries worldwide. Alice released her debut album Solo Piano in 2013 and has since gone on to work on a number of innovative collaboration projects with several other notable electronic and ambient music artists. Alice also programmes a monthly radio show, broadcasting emerging neo-classical music.
July 2015 saw the release of Alice’s most recent EP, Butterflies, a work of piano music augmented with ambient electronica sounds originally generated from the piano itself. Alice’s Butterflies EP explores the interconnection between electronica and solo piano music, demonstrating the infinite and unrealised musical possibility of the traditional piano. Alice is currently working on writing and recording a follow-up EP to Butterflies – also an homage to the piano – to be titled Fables.
