Patrick Bailey

Patrick Bailey is a conductor, composer/arranger, workshop leader and presenter. 
Patrick has conducted concerts with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Sinfonietta and many others. He has given concerts across Europe and in Dubai, India, Oman, China and the USA. He has broadcast concerts and opera for BBC Radio 3 and has recorded several releases of contemporary music for NMC with Philharmonia Orchestra, The Opera Group and New Music Players. 
Whilst he was Music Director of The Opera Group, he conducted numerous new productions and tours including Blond Eckbert (with Royal Opera House), The Nose (also arranger and co-translator), The Shops (world premiere, Bregenz Festival, Austria) and Street Scene (Young Vic & winner of the Best Musical at the Evening Standard Awards). Other notable performances include the UK premiere of Nono’s gargantuan Prometeo with the London Sinfonietta at the Royal Festival Hall.
Equally at home in lighter music, Patrick was Music Director of the extraordinary Thursford Christmas Spectacular for seven seasons, the largest variety show in the UK, and has conducted many live scores to film.
As a workshop leader and presenter, Patrick has led projects and written and presented concerts for BBC orchestras, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, and Music for Youth. As an arranger/orchestrator, his credits include Royal Opera House, BBC Proms and a new version of The Snow Maiden for English Touring Opera. He is an Associate Musician with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestrawith whom he presents and conducts concerts and leads creative workshops.
Patrick has been resident in Cornwall since 2014. He leads the contemporary music ensemble Kevos, the big band, Leskyn Kernow and was Music Director/arranger for the The Christmas Orchestra’s triumphant inaugural tour in 2024 
Patrick is co-director of Big Bang Music, promoting live music across Cornwall.
