Product Description

The piece Fragile Textures has been written for 10 Piece Orchestral Brass and Percussion and features a somewhat distant-sounding melody that is being masked by unruly harmonies and frequent pulls of tension. We hear slight glimmers of hope that an uplifting sound can come through the texture, yet there is still a lingering feeling of desperation for the listener. Following an intense and exhilarating 1st movement, the piece then transitions into an uncertain sounding bridge section that then reveals the melody that was once desperately trying to break through the texture before. Continuing to the final third and faster movement, we are reminded again of the ambiguous harmonies that once tried to steal away the melody but, once again, the major tonality breaks through and brings the piece to a rousing finale with virtuosic brass playing and a sense of positivity towards the end.
