Asian Dreams is from the CD, Images of Sarang. It is designed as a compositional exercise in showing the use of the major pentatonic scale in an Asian style. Although the recording creates more of a "spa" type of atmosphere, the notes were played straight from the original piano composition by James Michael Stevens. Stevens is a prolific composer residing in Nashville, TN where he serves as the Music Department Chairman at Welch College. He is known internationally for his choral anthems, piano arrangements/compositions, and piano improvisation workshops. Many of his recent piano pieces can be heard on Pandora Radio and Spotify.
