This easy 1 piano, 4 hands duet is arranged for a beginning student to play the PRIMO while the teacher or an intermediate student plays the SECONDO. All notes in the PRIMO are played singly with the hands in one position centered around middle C and then played one octave higher.

For variation, as demonstrated in the audio sample, the PRIMO may play two octaves higher for the last verse. While the PRIMO plays the melody through three times, the SECONDO adds a slightly different harmony and rhythm for each of the three verses. This familiar African-American Spiritual is an ideal selection for a first performance in a church setting. The PRIMO can also be played as a solo when played as written, centered around middle C.
