Product Description

Poem was written to pose a question. The question is universal and affects
us all, but it is up to each listener to distinguish what it means to them.
The work begins with an elegiac funeral march, climaxes with a powerful
modulation, and ends in an uncertain tonal landscape. The inspiration for
Poem came from reading the works of great poets discussing the human
condition. Their beautiful words inspired me to write this work in just two
weeks. The text was taken from the Emily Dickinson poems The difference
between Despair and Fear and Hope is the thing with feathers.

Poem is written for four SATB singers and a string quintet. A full score and all parts are included upon purchase.
