Waterfalls are a short-lived geological phenomenon, their formation completely based on the natural erosion of soft and hard rock. As the water eats away at the rock, the falls eventually retreat and turn back into streams or rapids. The Midwestern states of the U.S. are home to different types of small waterfalls, many of which remain discretely hidden unless you know where to find them. This collection of character pieces highlights a few of the many waterfalls found in the Midwestern states.

This piece is suitable for high school, college, amateur, and professional flute choirs.
