Reaching No.3 in
March 1998, Let Me Entertain You was
the fifth and final single from Robbie Williamss debut solo studio album Life Thru a Lens (1997). Williams and Guy
Chambers were inspired to write a 'Who-esque' song after watching the film Rock and Roll Circus, commenting that it
is "not really heavy metal, it's more like camp rock opera!"
In the music video,
"The Robbie Williams Band" are dressed as members of the band KISS, with Williams's
makeup and stage costume being either very similar or nearly identical to a
member of KISS.
It has been covered
by artist much as Bon Jovi, Westlife and used on The X Factor by five different singers. It was also sung by the
fictional group Park Avenue during Series
1, Episode 6 of the British sitcom Phoenix
Nights.
Ideal for wedding
and concerts alike, this arrangement includes alternative parts for tenor horn,
treble-clef euphonium and tuba. A recording of the song can
be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymPu2PdLW3I.
A recent purchaser commented that "It's a fab arrangement. We use it as our show opener."
