Product Description

Charles Colin (1832-1881) was a French composer and oboe who taught at the Paris Conservatory. This piece was written for the Prize exams during his tenure there and is based on a first-edition copy. The first edition mentions « saxophone » as an alternative instruemnt, which is almost certainly the instrument in C. The saxophone part is the same as the original version, but the piano part is transposed to permit performance in the correct key.
