Product Description

Satie - Gymnopedie n.1 (easy piano sheet) Easy piano version, 3 pages. The Gymnopédies are three piano compositions written by French composer Erik Satie in 1888. The work's title comes from the French form of gymnopaedia, the ancient Greek word for an annual festival where young men danced naked or unarmed. Satie decided to use this title after reading a Gustave Flaubert's novel. These short and atmospheric pieces have a slow waltz time. The melodies of the pieces use dissonances against the harmony, producing a melancholy and painful effect.
