With a nod toward the title, this piano solo arrangement of the hymn, All Beautiful the March of Days, opens with an easy march-like rhythm in the left hand. Accents on the offbeat combine with altered harmonies to lend a hint of jazz to the music. The second page moves to the relative minor key, and the third features a modulation up one step while the melody moves to the left hand. With an option to repeat the first page and a possible stopping point after the second page, the duration of this piece can be easily adapted to varying needs, such as a longer prelude or a shorter offertory for the church service.
