Product Description

Scored for 2 Bb Solo Clarinets and Concert Band, this arrangement of a popular Brazilian tune was written in 1917. The work was originally titled Tico-Tico no Fubá which means "Sparrow In The Cornmeal". The piece was later recorded in 1931 by Carmen Miranda and became quite popular in the 1940s. It can be heard in many movie such as Copacabana, Bathing Beauty, Woody Allens Radio Days and even Walt Disneys musical cartoon movie titled the Three Amigos. The lyrics of the song deal with a bothersome bird that wont stop eating the cornmeal meant for others. Fun to play and a great showpiece for 2 clarinets, audiences will quickly recognize this tune and receive it well.
