Product Description

Loosely translated as "The Dream Passes by the Windows", this is straightforward, three-part, a cappella choral arrangement of a beautiful, melancholy folk song from Ukraine. It can be sung by female voice choir (SSA), male voice (TTB) or mixed voice choir. Approximately 2'15" in length.

The score contains two different versions of the same arrangement - each two pages long. The first has the lyrics written out phonetically in order to help native English speakers learn the correct pronunciation of the words, and the second has the lyrics formally transliterated from the Ukrainian alphabet. This version may be more appropriate for non-English speaking choirs.

For mixed voice choirs with a small number of men relative to the number of women, it is suggested to put them all on Voice 1, singing down an octave, alongside a few women singing Voice 1 at pitch. For choirs with more or less the same numbers of men and women, I would share them equally between the parts, with the men always singing an octave lower than the women.

My name is Jake Alexander - Im a composer, arranger and choir leader based in London. I create accessible arrangements that play to the strengths of community choirs. If you would like to offer any feedback, or just want to say hi, please get in touch at jake@jakealexander.org. Also, feel free to get in touch if you would like to be sent rehearsal tracks - these are available for all of my scores. Happy singing!
