Product Description

This Latin-flavored solo for high tenor (up to B4) was inspired by actor Jon Rodriguez's debut performance as Usnavi in a production of "In the Heights" at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford, CT in July 2018. As the understudy, Jon had a mere 4 hours notice when the lead actor became ill and realized he would not be able to go on that night. After the success of Jon's performance, music director Melanie Guerin and fellow actor Nick Palazzo decided to collaborate on a song just for Jon. They wanted to capture everything that makes Jon special, so they included crazy high notes, some Latin flair, a reference to his (other) favorite musical, a bit of rapping, and of course, Jon's favorite word, "Amazing."
