Apache
composed by Jerry Lordan, as played
by The Shadows
Arranged for Guitar Quartet by Dan Jones
This
arrangement of Apache has been made
with real-world guitar teachers and ensembles in mind.
Perhaps
our instruments greatest joy is the fact that it exists in so many forms and
styles of music. Some players prefer the electric guitar and read from TAB,
others have a classical background and are therefore more familiar with notes;
others still prefer reading from chord charts with fretboard diagrams.
This
download considers all of these musicians.
Guitar
1 is the main tune, as played by Hank Marvin in The iconic recording made by
The Shadows. The music is provided in both notes and TAB.
Guitar 2
is a part with chords. This is given with chord symbols, fretboard diagrams and
rhythm patterns.
Guitar
3 is designed to include the less-experienced player. It is in open position
and the part, being easy to read, is given in notes. This is an optional part.
Guitar 4
is a transcription of the bass line. It is an interesting and
rhythmically-exciting part. It is in simple positions and is given in notes
only.
Guitar
4 can also be played by a bass guitar. The part is also given in bass clef
(sounding an octave lower).
It is my
intention to provide arrangements which are exciting, original, stimulating,
flexible and which people want to play. Films of all of my arrangements for
