Product Description

"Arise, Awake, you silly shepherds sleeping" is a five-part madrigal by Thomas Morley (c. 1557 1602), the best-known English composer of his time. Adapted for SATTB recorders from a facsimile of Madrigals: The Triumphs of Oriana (1601) which honors Queen Elizabeth I. The "silly shepherds sleeping" are awakened by the appearance of the Queens entourage, so they sing her praises.

Score and individual parts, plus notes with lyrics. Lively and enjoyable to play. Good for ensembles, workshops and recorder society meetings.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
