This somber, but beautiful aria, is sung to conclude the opera Aida. It  announces her unavoidable departure from this green earth. There is a great deal of rubato and expression required in the performance of this work allowing students to use their emotions in depicting the scenario. A substitute trombone for horn part is included. The trumpet range is to hi A but just in the melodic passages.
