The beautiful and lyrical work,The Lark was first written by Glinka in 1840, originally a song which was brilliantly arranged into piano solo by Mily Balakirev. This arrangement was based in part on that work, with the opening and ending completely by Balakirev. It is easier than the Balakirev version but not without its challenges.
