Come as You Are
by Ben Glover, David Crowder, and Matt Maher. Used by Permission.
with Come Ye Disconsolate (lyrics - Thomas Moore 1816 ed by Thomas Hastings 1831, melody - CONSOLATION by Samuel Webbe 1792)
The Glover, Crowder, and Maher song is an updated version of a grand old hymn, Come Ye Disconsolate. The 18th century melody is so lovely that it deserves a hearing beside Come As You Are. The grace of God is so rich and complete, that it is merely accepted, not earned, bought, or traded. We come to God as we are dirty, broken, mislead, helpless, hopeless, and His grace cleanses, forgives, enlivens, redirects us, and gives us hope. Truly, earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
