Product Description

New music for an ancient dance! This mysterious belly dance tune is composed for solo violin to accompany the veil dance (the second part of the American cabaret belly dance routine) and can be accompanied by an improvising drummer familiar with belly dance rhythms. This music would also be enjoyable for any violinist interested in exploring world music genres. If you are interesting in more original music for belly dance, check out my offerings: (1) Muse Dance: Original Belly Dance Music; (2) Songs from Euterpe, which includes the Muse Dance songs; (3) Theodora, a lively beledi tune; two more romantic veil dance tunes (4) Leah and (5) Laleh; and a new lively beledi tune (6) Full Bloom Beledi. About the Composer:  Dorothy van Joolen Barth is a classical violinist and recorder player. Born in Amsterdam, she now resides and performs in California. She has arranged six volumes of Celtic traditional music for two instruments and has composed three volumes of original music. She studied and performed oriental dance for several decades, which inspired her to compose this original dance music. Interest by dancers and musicians in these compositions will encourage her to create more!
