Product Description

Ah! vous dirai-je, maman is a popular childrens song in France, which has had numerous lyrics on different themes since its composition in the 18th century. Mozart was inspired to write a set of 12 variations for piano on this theme sometime between 1781 and 1782 after an earlier stay in Paris in 1778. Many songs in various languages have been based on the Ah! vous dirai-je,maman melody. In English, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, the Alphabet Song, and Baa, Baa, Black Sheep are all based on this melody. The melody also inspired the song What a Wonderful World. This arrangement written in August 2015 is for Clarinet Quartet (3 soprano clarinets and 1 bass clarinet). Each voice has its own interests and challenges.
