Product Description

Ah! vous dirai-je, maman is a popular childrens song in France, which has had numerous lyrics on different themes since its composition in the 18th century. Mozart was inspired to write a set of twelve variations on this song for the piano while he was staying in Paris sometime between 1778-1782. Many songs in various languages have been based on the Ah! vous dirai-je,maman melody. In English, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, the Alphabet Song, and Baa, Baa, Black Sheep are all based on this melody. The melody also inspired the song What a Wonderful World. This arrangement written in August 2015 of Mozart's variations is for SATB or AATB Saxophone Quartet. Each voice has its own particular interests and challenges.
