Product Description

This is an arrangement of Taylor Swifts and William Bowerys betty from the album Folklore, for solo fingerstyle guitar. It is best suited to players of an advanced-intermediate level and higher, though lower-intermediate players could make progress on it at slower tempos. The arrangement features syncopated melodic rhythms on top of straight basslines, as well as Travis-picking passages, meaning some familiarity with contemporary fingerpicking styles is beneficial. Recommended for performance on a steel-string or nylon-string acoustic guitar.

As far as I am aware this is the first comprehensive fingerstyle arrangement of betty to be published, with a melodic line and structure authentic to the original song. Only the tempo has been slowed slightly, making some of the more challenging manoeuvres easier to perform and allowing for a more flowing sound on the guitar. Parts of the melody are adapted from subtle electric guitar phrases heard towards the ends of sections in the original recording. Rehearsal marks are used for song sections, while lyrics have been omitted for the sake of readability.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
