Gustav Holst composed this sublime piece of music in 1900 in memory of his mother. Ave Maria, written in 1900 for 8 separate voices originally for woman's chorus, combines ancient modality and dissonances within a diatonic framework.

David Fetter has arranged this lovely devotional work of about 5-minutes in length for 8-part Trombone ensemble, appropriate for advanced-intermediate performers.

All in bass clef.
