Product Description

This concert arrangement for male choir uses the broad and heartfelt melody that Robert Burns originally intended to be paired with his "Auld Lang Syne" lyric. From a gentle and pensive opening, the arrangement steadily builds -- as the poem extols the virtues of brotherhood, friendship, and faithfulness -- to a truly stirring conclusion.

The piano part in this piano-choral score may be used as the sole accompaniment in performances of the work; or the piano may be replaced by a chamber ensemble of flute, clarinet, French horn, violin, cello, and contrabass. It is actually this chamber ensemble version of the piece -- or at least a MIDI approximation of it -- that is heard in the accompanying audio preview. Should you wish to perform the arrangement in this version, please email  the composer at smithstephen@shaw.ca to obtain a full score and parts.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
