Rikard Nordraak, composer of the norwegian national hymn, wrote this ceremonial march as a part of a scenic music suite for the play "Mary Stuart in Scotland" in 1863. It was later arranged as a symphonic suite by his friend Johan Halvorsen. This arrangement for woodwind quintet makes a beautiful concert entry, it can also be a splendid wedding piece.
