This Pentecost anthem for SATB or SABar unaccompanied is a modern setting of a translation by the seventeenth century Bishop John Cosin of the plainsong text Veni Creator Spiritus. Cosin's text has been slightly modernised. The anthem consists of verses in harmony, with refrain usually for unison or solo voices, and the whole piece seeks to achieve a mood of predominantly quiet contemplation.

Alan Bullard's choral works are performed worldwide, and many have been recorded and broadcast. He has a reputation for music that choirs enjoy performing, and which speaks directly to audiences.
