Summer in Central Park is one Horace Silver tune I believe to be under-appreciated. The tune truly embodies the spirit of summer in New York City and allows the player and audience to feel the breeze as the music moves them. Soprano Sax and Piano are featured soloists. Trumpets will need Flugelhorns and Harmon Mutes. Bass is encouraged to play upright bass, but electric will still convey the message. This tune would be most suited for an advanced high school or college level jazz ensemble. I hope you enjoy.
