What Can Wash Away My Sin?

piano solo arrangement by Stephen R Dalrymple
Based on the public domain hymns What Can Wash Away My Sin? by Robert Lowry (1826-1899)
and Only Trust Him by John Hart Stockton (1813-1877) & Ira D Sankey (1840-1908)
arranged by Stephen R. Dalrymple
piano solo arrangement by Stephen R Dalrymple

performed by the arranger
Resetting the first hymn in the G Mixolydian mode and the second in F Lydian mode, this arrangement uses only the white keys of the piano. Since the G Mixolydian uses F natural and the F Lydian uses B natural, both mode scales use the same notes (in a different sequence) and the result creates a tension between the G chord and the F chord througout the arrangement.
This .pdf file includes 2 files: 1) Letter size piano score 2) Small page piano score for performing from a 10 inch tablet
