Wash me throughly... is an anthem written in 1840 by Samuel Sebastian Wesley. It is often performed during Lent and particularly around Maundy Thursday. It is one of a number of late-Victorian anthems composed in England and brings together the reserved nature of late 19th century Christianity in England and the more passionate music emerging across Europe. This arrangement is for Brass Quintet.
