Music with Flexible scoring options permit creative ways for ensembles with incomplete instrumentation to be successfully performed. When instrumentation is less than ideal or when fewer performers are available, flexible scoring options can help provide solutions.

Many flexible scoring selections can be performed with as few as four like-instruments. While this flex-scoring selection can be performed by a quartet of like-instruments, the most successful configuration is with at least five heterogeneous wind instruments, plus some percussion. The full score has been revised and groups instruments in an easier to read format. This arrangement has been written to provide a light-hearted touch of humor to these familiar seasonal songs. From the polka-like countermelodies to the hint of a galloping, overly zealous horse, the intent is merriment during the Christmas Season. While horse-drawn sleighs bring to mind images of a bygone age, the melodies are as welcome today as ever!
