Michelle is an based in London, UK. She is the arranger-in-association with
Estilo String Quartet who have released three albums of her arrangements,
Marriage in an Orange Grove,
Alternative Tracks, and
A Brand New Sky, as well as several singles, most memorably
Fairytale of New York which was number 1 in the iTunes Classical chart in December 2016. Many of the arrangements ahe has written for Estilo are available to buy and download here.
Michelle has previously worked with Decca (New York) and more recently has been creating new string arrangements for Decca Classical (UK), for release later this year. She has also recently collaborated with
Peter Mallinson (violist, BBC Symphony Orchestra), who has commissioned several pieces featuring the viola, with releases planned on the Meridian label in 2024.
She has developed several music education projects in order to enable young musicians to play along with professional players . Her specially-adapted arrangements of Mussorgsky's
Pictures at an Exhibition (developed with her husband,
Jacques Cohen), have been used by BBC Concert Orchestra, Telemark Orchestra and the
Cohen Ensemble.
Future plans include a new album for string orchestra, for release later this year.
